Fortazime Injection

Each Vial contains a blend of Sterile Ceftazidime Pentahydrate USP & sterile sodium carbonate equivalent to Ceftazidime USP 500.0 mg/1.0 g/2.0 g

Indications
Respiratory tract infections including lung infections in cystic fibrosis
Ear, nose and throat infections
Urinary tract infections
Skin and soft tissue infections
Gastrointestinal, biliary and abdominal infections
Bone and joint infections
Infections associated with haemo- and peritoneal dialysis and with continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD)


Dosages and Administration

Adults: 1-6g/day in 2 or 3 divided doses by IV or IM injection.

Infants & Childrens: 30 - 100mg/kg/day in 2 or 3 divided doses.

Neonates: 25-60mg/kg/day in 2 divided doses


Contraindications
Patients with known hypersensitivity to cephalosporin antibiotics.
Hypersensitivity to ceftazidime pentahydrate or to any of the excipients.
