Composition
Clotrimazole 100 mg vaginal tablets

Indications
Vaginal candidiasis, candidal vulvitis, vaginal mycoses,
post menopausal
vaginitis.
Dosage and Administration
Insert 100 mg pessary deep into vagina before retiring to
bed for &
consecutive nights or 200 mg pessary for 3 nights. Not to be
used during
menstruation.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the drug.

CANISON

Composition
Clotrimazole USP 1% w/w Cream base q.s.

Indications
Clotrimazole cream is indicated for the topical treatment of
the following dermal infections:
• Tinea pedis, tinea cruris and tinea corporis due to
Trichophyton rubum, Trichophyton metagrophytes,
Epidermophyton floccosum and Microsporum canis.
• Candidiasis due to Candida albicans including cutaneous
candidiasis, paronychia, external genital candidiasis,
candidal balanitis.
• Pityriasis versicolor due to Malassezia furfur.
• Erythrasma.
Clotrimazole cream is also indicated for the topical
treatment of vulvovaginal candidiasis.
Dosage and Administration
Apply sparingly to the affected area and rub in gently, two
to three times daily.
Duration of treatment: The following recommendations are
made:
Cutaneous candidiasis 2 weeks, Dermatomycoses 3-4 weeks,
Onychia and Paronychia due to C. albicans, 4-8 weeks or
more.
Regular application of clotrimazole cream is essential for
successful treatment, and whether or not a cure is confirmed
mycologically, treatment should be continued for two weeks
after all clinical signs have disappeared.
Special Remarks: Attention to hygiene is important in the
management of fungal diseases of the feet; after washing,
the feet - especially between the toes - should be dried
thoroughly.
Clotrimazole cream may be useful in mycotic paronychia or
onychia following removal of the nail.
Clotrimazole cream may also be used in conjunction with
clotrimazole vaginal tablets in the management of Candida
vulvovaginitis or infection of the peri-anal area, while
application of the cream to the glans penis of the partner
may help prevent reinfection of the female.
It is suggested that treatment be timed so as to avoid the
menstrual period and to be complete before the onset of
menstruation.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to clotrimazole or any of the ingredients
in Canison cream.

Composition
Each gram contains Clotrimazole USP 10 mg

Indications
Canison Dusting Powder is indicated for the treatment of
athlete’s feet and ringworm of skin folds, in Cutaneous
candidiasis, fungal infections of skin and hair.
Dosage and Administration
To be applied 2–3 times daily on the affected area for at
least 3-4 weeks.
Contraindications
Known hypersensitivity to clotrimazole or any of the
excipients.
