Composition

Each Vial contains:
Sterile Ceftriaxone Sodium USP equivalent to
Ceftriaxone USP 1.0 gm

Lower Respiratory Tract Infections
Acute Bacterial Ottitis Media
Skin and Skin Structure Infections
Urinary Tract Infections
Uncomplicated Gonorrhea
Pelvic Inflammatory Disease
Bacterial Septicemia
Bone and Joint Infections
Intra-Abdominal Infections
Meningitis


Dosage and Administration

The usual adult daily dose is 1 to 2 grams given once a day (or in equally divided doses twice a day) depending on the type and severity of infection. The total daily dose should not exceed 4 grams. For preoperative use (surgical prophylaxis), a single dose of 1 gram administered intravenously ½ to 2 hours before surgery is recommended.


Contraindications

Ceftriaxone is contraindicated in patients with known allergy to the cephalosporin class of antibiotics.
